I hope that you have managed to stay safe during these difficult and challenging times.
To keep all our staff and guests safe, we closed our doors again in January and in accordance with the new government guidance, we are looking forward to tentatively re-opening our doors on May 17th 2021.
Whilst maintaining the relaxed and fun atmosphere at the hotel, we are having to navigate the situation we currently find ourselves in and have implemented new procedures to make sure that you can confidently enjoy a stay with us and feel safe.

WELCOMING YOU BACK TO THE RECTORY
Whilst hopefully minimising the impact on the feel of the Rectory that everyone has come to love, we have put in place procedures to provide confidence and improve safety for everyone at this time.
With the same care and attention to detail you are used to from The Rectory, the health and safety of our staff and guests is our absolute priority. Our hotel, gardens and new menus are all ready and waiting for you and we can’t wait to welcome you all back in May! In the meantime, please read below to find out how we are committed to keeping you all safe whilst enjoying your stay with us.
HOTEL BOOKINGS AND RESERVATIONS
We are currently taking bookings at the hotel from Monday 17th May 2021 onwards. Our self-contained cottage is available to book for single households from Monday 12th April.
Face masks for staff and guests at all times in public spaces.
Physical distancing in all public spaces between staff and guests.
We expect our reservations team to be very busy so they will be doing their utmost to respond to all enquiries as quickly as possible. Phone lines may be busy so where possible, we suggest you make your hotel booking online and enquiries over email (firstname.lastname@example.org)
All cottage bookings have a 20% deposit payable on bookingAll cottage bookings have a 21 day cancellation policyAll hotel bookings of three nights or more require a 20% non refundable depositAny hotel bookings of two nights or less will still have our 72 hour cancellation policy
If you are showing signs or symptoms of COVID-19 after the cancellation period, please call us immediately and we will try our utmost to resell your room.
For group and event bookings, please speak directly to the hotel.
Also for the safety of our all guests and staff, we kindly request that you confirm upon your arrival that all guests (and their households) are fit and well and symptom free.
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
In line with current social distancing measures and to ensure your safety and that of all our staff, both check-in and check-out will now be through a contactless process. We cannot accept cash so your card details will be requested prior to your arrival to facilitate contactless payment. You will receive an email prior to your stay which will outline the exact procedures to make this process as swift and safe as possible. Check in is from 3pm onwards however we request that you book a convenient slot so that we have sufficient time to thoroughly clean your room and in line with social distancing measures, avoid any congestion at check in. Contactless check out is by 11am on the day of your departure.
RESTAURANT, GLASSHOUSE AND THE GARDENS
Although we are fortunate enough to have our beautiful gardens which can accommodate you for lunch and dinner, we will be operating with a reduced number of tables initially in our restaurant so availability may be limited. Although we will be continually reviewing new procedures in line with the Government guidance, we would advise that you contact us as soon as possible to book a table to avoid disappointment.
We have suspended all buffets for now so breakfast will be available from our a la carte menu. We have single use menus in our restaurant – please do feel free to take these with you when you leave.
OUR STAFF AND SUPPLIERS
We are committed to the safety of all our staff and guests and we are communicating regularly with all our key suppliers to make sure that they also meet our high standards of health and hygiene. Every member of staff has been trained prior to reopening in all new health and hygiene related procedures and we have taken all steps necessary to adhere to the Government’s COVID-19 Secure Workplace Guidelines. As new protocols are introduced moving forward, we will be providing ongoing training to all our staff so that they can provide an efficient and safe service. All staff members have a daily health check when they arrive on site and we provide all necessary PPE especially to those team members working in the kitchen and housekeeping. There will be a Senior Manager on duty at all times who is our designated, responsible contact person for all staff and guest COVID-19 related queries.
Housekeeping staff will be using enhanced cleaning methods in all bedrooms between each stay so that you can be assured that your room is absolutely safe for your arrival. During your stay with us, housekeeping in guests rooms will be available on request. Please contact the hotel reception at check in to prearrange at a suitable time when you will be out of your room. All housekeeping staff change their PPE between each room clean.
Hand sanitiser is provided for all guests and staff. We have placed dispensers at entry and exit points as well as throughout the hotel and in each room. Please make use of these at every opportunity.
